The different signs and manifestation of grief can generally be categorized into three basic groups: physical symptoms, emotional implications, and social indicators.

Physical Symptoms: It’s pretty normal for someone who is in grief to experience the following physical symptoms: headaches, weakness, fatigue, as well as aches and pains. Grieving patients have also been recorded to experience difficulty sleeping and a general loss of appetite.

Emotional Symptoms: Sadness, excessive worry, periods of profound frustration, and anger are some of the emotional symptoms people grieving exhibit. Some survivors are known to confess experiencing guilt for not having done enough and unable to see the good they have done. This type of feeling occurs mainly to love ones of victims of suicide or death brought forth by disease or violence.

Social Neglect: Often times people in experiencing profound grief have been noticed to feel detached from others, even close friends and family. This often leads to the victim isolating him or herself from social contact.

Once you're ready, our services are aimed at curing your grief using modern methods from our clinicians. Grief has symptoms accompanied with other feelings following the traumatic events;

  • Shock and disbelieve; occurring immediately after such event.

  • Sadness; this is by far the leading symptom and takes longest to get over. It is often times accompanied with guilt.

  • Anger; this results from feeling that the loss of someone or something is unfair.

At Destination Greatness PLLC, our clinicians look into these symptoms and decide which rehabilitation treatment would work best for our patients. The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an exceptional method used on our patients and gives fabulous results. The Comprehensive Clinical Assessment is the entry point. At this point, the cause or reason for being grief stricken will be assessed. The clinician then engages the client in an interactive session to obtain a comprehensive overview of the client's problems and also the cause of the grief. The result of the assessment leads the clinician recommending the therapeutic approach and diagnosis if appropriate.
